Welcome to the TVA FOIA & Privacy Act Portal

This portal allows members of the public to submit either a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) or Privacy Act (PA) request and to check its status, as well as providing access to frequently requested records.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

Like all federal agencies, TVA is required under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to disclose records that any person requests in writing. Information that is covered by any of the nine exemptions and three exclusions contained in the statute; however, may be withheld.

Privacy Act (PA)

Under the Privacy Act (PA), a person may seek access to records that are retrieved by that person's name or other personal identifier (Social Security Number, employee id). Such records will be made available unless they fall within the exemptions of the PA or the FOIA.
